The Epiphany Skin Analyzer™ works by using skin-safe UVA light to reveal details about your skin that aren’t visible under normal lighting. When the light interacts with your skin, it highlights areas that may need your attention, such as dryness, oiliness, or uneven texture, by making them appear in unique colors or patterns (a color chart will come with your order or you can view it on our website or social media pages). These insights go beyond what the naked eye can see, giving you a unique, and deeper understanding of your skin’s current condition and its needs. 

By illuminating what’s beneath the surface, The Epiphany™ helps you make smarter, more personalized decisions about your skincare routine and product choices. For the most accurate results, we recommend using your Epiphany in a darker environment, such as your bathroom with the lights turned off or a dimly lit room. Bright lighting can reduce the contrast of the highlights, making it harder to see the unique insights The Epiphany provides you. A dimly lit space allows the Epiphany’s precise feedback to shine, giving you a clearer, more actionable picture of your skin’s health. 

While it's true that prolonged exposure to UV light from the sun can contribute to skin aging and damage, the UVA light in The Epiphany Skin Analyzer™ is not the same as the UV light you're exposed to outdoors. The Epiphany emits controlled, low-intensity UVA light at 365 nm (nanometers, the unit used to measure light waves), designed specifically for brief, targeted use in skin analysis. This is far different from the prolonged, high-intensity exposure you might get from the sun or tanning beds. 

While concerns about UV light are common, it’s important to understand that not all UV light exposure is harmful. In fact, UV light is a naturally occurring part of sunlight that plays an essential role in supporting your health. For example, it helps your skin produce Vitamin D, which is critical for a healthy body, a strong immune system, and overall well-being. UV light is also used therapeutically to treat various skin conditions, such as psoriasis, eczema, and vitiligo, under controlled settings. 

The idea that UV light is inherently 'bad' for your skin is a misconception. Like many things in life, it’s about balance and proper use. Prolonged, unprotected exposure to intense UV light—like sunbathing for hours without sunscreen—can indeed cause problems. However, the controlled, focused, low-intensity UVA light in The Epiphany Skin Analyzer operates at a specific wavelength of 365 nm. This wavelength is optimized for skin analysis and ensures the light penetrates just enough to reveal details about your skin without causing harm. 

This means The Epiphany’s UVA light is far from the levels of exposure you’d get from the sun or a tanning bed. Instead, it’s a safe and effective tool to help you better understand your skin, empowering you to make smarter choices about the products and treatments you use. To turn on your Epiphany, hold down the 'Power' button for 3 seconds. To turn it off, press the 'Power' button once.

On the bottom of the Epiphany is a USB-C charging port. A charging cable is included with your purchase.

When the Epiphany is actively charging, the charging light will be blue, and when fully charged, it will turn green.
